Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Oscar Bermejo and I'm currently a student who is currently enrolled at LaGuardia Community College. This semester one of the class I currently enrolled in is Violence in American Art and Culture or better known at the college as ENN195, who is currently being taught by the professor Dr. Justin Rogers-Cooper this semester. In this class the themes we will be looking into are violence that happen through American History and the changes that took place when these sorts of act of violence occurred.

"The Civilization of years can be overthrown in almost any human being in a few days. In a little time we return to our real nature". What I believe this quote is trying to say is that when a person is introduce to a new environment or new to place that they have never been in before, they most likely
lose their sense of being a normal person and be consumed by fear and terror of this unknown place that they haven't visit. How the story uses the quote, they would think similar to a wild beast in the wild, who is afraid of human kind and seem to wonder endlessly without an exact destination. Since the woman is trying to help her to go a right way, the girl is terrified similar as a wild animal in the wilderness when encounter with a human , so she runs off exactly what a animal from the wilderness would do, either run away in a fear or attack back."The girl pushed on confused, frightened, lost in the wild of civilization...To one who, familiar only with woods, wilds, the face of nature..." Any person can become consumed by fear or turn into a "wild" person if they are being introduce to a new environment without the help of someone they know that could guide them through the new area they are visiting. They don't know what these strangers could possibly do to you, the massive amount of people that are walking around and the new setting that you have to get use to all at the same time could be a lot to a person mental state. Also I think that there is people that look for person such as this girl, that are confuse in this big city and see them as easy targets to manipulate them for person usage or advantages.

  2. Hello Oscar. well for starters i like your blog. I like how you introduce yourself and all. what i would say is after you done writing your blog, read it aloud their were a couple mistakes but nothing major. Secondly i like how you started with a quote however i would suggest that you mention where you got the quote, if its from a book make sure you write what book was it from. Next i like how you use repetition, for instance you use the word "wild" and you compare it to civilization. The other thing i notice is how you describe the girl coming to the city and being an easy target to manipulate. The girl is a good example of what happens in the city. Lastly i would suggest you concentrate on how the girl is an easy target to manipulate. my question(s) is: Do you see this in Caesar's Column? Can you elaborate more on your writing, they all good ideas that i believe you have more to say about them.
